Rachel Israel is a first year medical student at Oakland University Beaumont School of Medicine and is also a medical assistant at Bloom Pediatrics.

Rachel explored many career paths while receiving her undergraduate degree from University of Michigan and took a gap year working as a medical assistant at Bloom. Coming from a family with 6 kids, Rachel attributes many of her successes to being mentored by her 4 older siblings. She looks forward to carrying on the tradition in guiding and helping incoming college students in her upcoming workshops at Bloom.

Alyssa Battani is a first year PA student attending Lawrence Technological University representing her class as the president for her cohort.

Alyssa is also a medical assistant at Bloom Pediatrics. Upon completing her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science and a minor in Biology at Oakland University, Alyssa’s original goal was to be a Physical Therapist. She then realized that her interest in medicine changed and decided to apply to Physician Assistant schools.

Collaborating with her colleague Rachel, Alyssa is excited to work with students in learning to find balance with campus life, extracurriculars and study tips on their path to careers in medicine.
