Intro to Sensory Processing
*A Class for Parents
We are constantly taking in sensory information all around us. Our brains use this information for many things, including moving our body, understanding the space around us, paying attention, and learning. Some kids and adults have a high need for sensory input, or are more sensitive to certain sights, sounds, and touch. This can show up as challenging behavior and can make it difficult for them to participate in daily tasks at home and school. This presentation is great for parents and caregivers of the wiggle worms and the sensitive souls. Jessica Ravineala, MS, OTRL is an occupational therapist and a local mom of two daughters. She is the owner of The Therapy SPOT, a pediatric clinic offering speech therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy in both Farmington Hills and Troy, since 2014. She is also co-founder and Director of Learning for Bridges Development Center, a non-profit therapeutic preschool for neurodivergent children.
