Event Type

As new parents, we often worry about our baby’s development and compare our child to others. Is our baby most advanced in their skills? When will they finally reach that new milestone? Are they on time, and what activities are best to promote their development? This presentation led by Pediatric Physical Therapist Dr. Vera Malushi will review the timeline of the gross motor, fine motor, and communication skills expected within the first year. Parents will get answers to questions about their baby’s gross motor development, receive tips on tummy time and flat head prevention, and discuss activities that promote development vs activities that tend to contribute to developmental delays. Though this presentation is not meant to diagnose or treat any conditions, Dr. Vera is happy to answer any questions about developmental milestones within the first year. Bring your baby – new parents and their babies are welcome!

Dr. Vera Malushi, DP, DPT, PCS is a local mom of three and a physical therapist with a national board certification in pediatrics.
